FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO MAKE A CUSTOM DOLL?
Yes. Half of all my orders are either customized dolls or custom dolls.
Are you imaging a doll? I can work with you to make that doll a reality. Let's talk about:
- Did you envision a girl or boy, or a baby? Or a toddler?
- Doll size
- Hair colors
- Hair texture
- Hair style
- Skin color
- Clothing
- Eye color
I have made dolls to match children, dolls to match storybook characters, dolls for authors to match their book characters, dolls to match long lost childhood dolls and dolls to match specific activities (one of my dolls became sky-diver).
I love the challenge and my customers love the results.
WHAT SIZE ARE THE DOLLS?
The rag dolls come in two sizes. Phoebe is 23 inches tall and Baby Egg is 16 inches. Because Phoebe has long thin legs, she feels much smaller. She is easy to hold, cuddle and carry about for a child three and older.
WHAT DOES EACH DOLL COME WITH?
All doll sets come with at least two sets of clothing and at least one set of shoes. In addition, each doll comes with a gorgeous white glossy box with a handmade Phoebe&Egg label designed to last and for storing your doll and doll clothing. Read the product description to see what is included in each set, they do vary.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY DOLL?
A few of my dolls are ready to ship, but most are made to order. Most dolls will take at least two weeks. Each doll is crafted individually with an exceptional amount of attention to detail. I also review details of your doll as we go, to ensure you receive the doll you want.
Turn around time also depends on the details of the doll, the clothing (doll sweaters on small needles take some time to knit), hair color (some of the hair colors are hand-dyed) and time of year.
From September –December dolls are created in the order that orders are received.
I work with customers to ensure their deadlines and I keep all customers posted on progress and timeframe. I will not take orders I do not think I can fulfill in the time frame requested.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JOINTED AND CHILL PHOEBE?
Chill Phoebe is a rag doll. She's chill because she is a bit floppy. This means she does not have joints. She is cuddlier and because of her flexibility, she is easier for children to dress, carry around and sleep with.
The jointed dolls have legs and arms attached with joints, which allows them to hold certain positions, but the joints also prevent them from the flexibility of other positions.
I recommend the unjointed dolls for children.
CAN YOU MAKE CUSTOM CLOTHES?
Yes. One of my favorite assignments.
DO THE CLOTHES FIT AMERICAN GIRL DOLLS?
No, American Girl dolls are chunkier, so Phoebe clothing is too slim. There are some slimmer 18 inch dolls the clothing might fit.
WHAT SKIN COLORS ARE AVAILABLE?
I have four skin colors, but most dolls were created from three‑peach, tan or a warm brown. I do have a darker brown available.
I AM WONDERING ABOUT THE SHIPPING COSTS.
Although the doll is not heavy, her storage box is. The box is a solid beautiful white glossy box that is designed for storing Phoebe and her clothes. In the US, I ship US Priority so we have the tracking and insurance. I use Priority International for the same reasons.
I still have a question....
